Requirements and Prerequisites
Completion of Apple® Forensic Investigations and Advanced Apple® Forensic Investigation BlackBag Technologies courses or 64 hours of MacOS and iOS training from established training provider in addition to 1 year of digital forensic examination experience. Candidates can register online for the MiCFE by submitting an application form and providing information validating their required qualifications necessary to proceed with the examination.
Upon successful completion of the examination, MacOS and iOS Certified Examiners will be awarded a digital copy of the MiCFE certificate and rights to use the MiCFE logo as defined in the MiCFE Logo Usage section. Certifications are valid for 3 years. MiCFEs will need to renew their certification. This will require renewal registration through our website. MiCFE examiners will have a 6-month grace period from the expiration of their certification after which the student will have to re-apply for the MiCFE process.
Renewal will require proof of on-going education in the form of a minimum of 32 hours of macOS or iOS training from an established vendor or the successful completion of the written portion of the current MiCFE examination with a 75% score or higher.
