Mission Darkness TitanRF™ Faraday Tape offers the next generation of faraday shielding. It has been laboratory tested and certified to shielding effectiveness standards IEEE 299-2006 (see report details below). The high-shielding conductive adhesive tape is available in multiple lengths and widths. The tape can be easily cut and taped to surfaces for creating DIY faraday cages or RF shielding enclosures, EMF radiation reduction, EMI shielding and deflection, or connecting two sheets of TitanRF Faraday Fabric.
If using with TitanRF Faraday Fabric, place the sheets together and overlap slightly. Adhere the tape to the front and back layers to seal both sides. Make sure all edges are covered. The tape is extremely strong and cannot be removed easily once in place (may damage the fabric if removed).
The tape can also be used like a patch to easily repair a punctured faraday bag.
The “Do-It-Yourself” shielded enclosure FAQ page includes a list of frequently asked questions with answers and best practices related to using Mission Darkness TitanRF faraday supplies for building RF shielding enclosures.
The Mission Darkness app lets you test shielding effectiveness of your faraday projects. The Android app, called “MD Faraday Bag Tester” or iPhone app called, “Faraday Test” uses your phone’s WiFi, cell, and Bluetooth antennas to measure dB shielding.
TitanRF Faraday Tape, fabric, and other products including these items are made with metals such as copper and nickel. As such, they are conductive and also flammable. Keep these items away from outlets, plugs, cables, and any sources of electricity to reduce the chance of fire. Contact us if you have questions or concerns about your project.
Only Roll Compatible with the Taperator
The Mission Darkness Taperator provides fast and easy tape application to walls and corner seams. The 2″ x 164′ tape roll is the only size compatible with the Taperator. It includes a protective cardboard rim with printed instructions. Visit the Taperator page to learn more.
Use TitanRF Faraday Tape alongside TitanRF Faraday Fabric to create custom RF shielding enclosures and rooms. The Do-It-Yourself faraday enclosure overview video demonstrates how you can use the materials for projects such as making custom faraday cages, EMI/EMR reduction, sealing RF enclosures, connecting multiple sheets of fabric, mending a punctured faraday bag, etc. TitanRF Faraday Fabric is lab tested and certified to shielding effectiveness standards MIL STD 188-125 and IEEE 299-2006.
IEEE 299-2006 is the standard test method for measuring the effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding enclosures and materials. A properly-shielded device will effectively retain all RF energy in its faraday enclosure and keep all external RF isolated. The TitanRF Faraday Tape is advertised as a conductive material that can be used to isolate devices by blocking the frequency range most mobile devices and electronics transmit/operate within. To provide validation for this claim, the shielding effectiveness test measured how well the tape shields frequencies between 1.5GHz to 40GHz. The positive test results provides authentication of its shielding abilities.
The Mission Darkness Taperator provides fast, easy, one-handed tape application for constructing RF shielding enclosures and projects. The Taperator is only compatible with the TitanRF Faraday Tape 2″ width x 164′ length rolls. Large scale tape application without the assistance of the Taperator can be off-centered, strenuous, and inaccuracies may result in RF leakage. The Taperator firmly applies tape to flat seams, and has a retractable creasing wheel for taping inside corners. The ability to switch between the flat and angled roller is a unique feature that allows the user to effortlessly and evenly apply tape to all wall areas. The trigger actuated cut-off blade slices the tape free from the roll of tape at the end of runs. Visit the Taperator page to learn more.
